This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit this website or buy The Lineman's Winter Blackout Manual, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
Who is responsible

What we collect
When you buy. Checkout is handled by Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe collects your name, email address, payment card details and billing information. We receive your name, email address, billing country and the details of your purchase. We never see or store your full card number.
When you email us. We receive your email address and whatever you write in your message.
When you visit the site. Our web host automatically records technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, in server logs used to keep the site running and secure. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers, and Google receives your IP address.
The site uses your browser's session storage for one thing only: remembering that you've already seen the pop-up during your visit. It clears when you close the tab. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Why we use it

- To answer your questions and process refunds
- To prevent fraud and keep the site secure
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations
We don't sell your personal information. We'll only send you marketing emails if you've agreed to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers we need to run the business, and only for the purposes above:
- Stripe, for payments and, where applicable, sales tax
- Our web host, which serves this website
- Our email provider, which handles our support inbox
- Google Fonts, which serves the site's fonts
Some of these providers store or process information outside Quebec and Canada, including in the United States. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep purchase records for as long as tax and accounting laws require, generally six years. We keep support emails for as long as we need them to help you.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your consent, or ask us to delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it. Email support@yourdomain.com, and we'll reply within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec. If you live in the United States, you may have additional rights under your state's law. Contact us and we'll help.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, and payments go through Stripe's secure checkout. No method of storing or sending information online is completely secure, though.
Children
This site isn't meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new date.
