These terms cover your purchase and use of The Lineman's Winter Blackout Manual and this website. By buying the manual, you agree to them. They're written in plain English on purpose.

1. Who we are

This website and the manual are sold by [BUSINESS NAME] ("we" or "us"), [BUSINESS ADDRESS], Quebec, Canada. You can reach us at support@yourdomain.com. Payments are processed by Stripe.

2. What you're buying

You're buying a digital book in PDF format. It includes the First-Weekend Plan, the Fridge Sheets and the budget shopping lists, all inside the same file. Nothing is shipped.

After payment, you're taken straight to the download page, and Stripe emails your receipt. When we release an updated edition, we'll email a download link to the address you used at checkout, free of charge.

3. Prices and taxes

Prices are in US dollars. The launch price is available until the date shown on the sales page. After that date, the regular price applies. Where the law requires it, sales tax is calculated and added at checkout.

4. How you may use the manual

When you buy the manual, you get a personal license to read it and to print copies for your own household. The manual is protected by copyright. Please don't resell it, share the file, post it online, or give copies to people outside your household.

5. Educational information only

The manual shares general information about getting through a power outage safely. It is not professional advice. It is not a substitute for guidance from your doctor, pharmacist, a licensed electrician, a plumber, your utility or your local emergency officials.

• Always follow the instructions that came with any heater, generator, power station or appliance. If the manual and the manufacturer disagree, follow the manufacturer.
• Any work on your home's electrical system, including connecting a generator to your house, must be done by a licensed electrician.
• Follow your local codes and laws. Some products and methods aren't allowed everywhere.
• Prices, products and official guidance change over time. Check before you rely on them.
• In an emergency, call 911.

Every home, climate and situation is different, and you're responsible for how you use the information.

You can get a full refund within 7 days of purchase. See our refund policy for the details.

7. Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not responsible for indirect or consequential damages that arise from using the manual. Our total responsibility for any claim related to your purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived, including Quebec's Consumer Protection Act if it applies to you.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted on the day you bought the manual applies to that purchase.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. This doesn't take away any protection you have under the consumer protection laws of the place where you live.
